The Gambling Legislation Amendment (Responsible Gambling) Act 1999 and other regulations aim to ensure that registered clubs and hotels adopt responsible practices for gambling activities conducted on their premises. Mosman RS Club is committed to the principles of Responsible Conduct of Gaming.

Responsible Gambling
82% of adult Australians gamble and nearly all of these are able to do so without experiencing problems. People dream of winning, hope to beat the odds or see gambling as a relaxing or exciting recreational activity. To gamble responsibly, it is necessary to have a realistic view of gambling and set limits on how much time and money to spend on gambling. As part of its commitment to the promotion of responsible gambling, the club is a member of the BetSafe program.
What is BetSafe?
BetSafe is an initiative of the BetSafe Group (a coalition of 45 registered clubs in NSW and Canberra). It is a comprehensive program devised and fully implemented in consultation with Paul Symond Consultancy.
The BetSafe program integrates measures designed to reduce the development of problem gambling with a comprehensive program of assistance for club patrons who may be experiencing problem gambling. Key elements of the BetSafe program are:
· Responsible gambling information and warnings
· Compliance with all legal requirements
· Well-trained and resourced staff who can provide immediate assistance
· Telephone & face-to-face counselling for those experiencing gambling problems
· An easy to access self-exclusion program
BetSafe was highly recommended by the Productivity Commission and continues to be the industry leader in responsible gaming innovation.

What services are available ?
Information
As part of its commitment to the BetSafe program, the club provides a range of signs, brochures and other messages about different aspects of responsible gambling. Club patrons are encouraged to make informed choices, to take control of their gambling expenditure and to seek assistance if necessary.
Responsible promotion
The club does not conduct irresponsible promotions or try to get patrons to gamble more than they can afford. Risky gambling behaviours are discouraged.
